What I've Learned

AYW 1 This quote is one of the most important lessons I learned in the process of publishing my first book. Even though I have dreamed of writing a book since I was a little girl in Nigeria, I have had to wait on God for more than two decades for the right opportunity, in the right way, at the right time. There were times along the way when I had to resist the temptation to "do it my way" and simply take any opportunity that presented itself.

So many times while we wait on God we take matters into our own hands and try to forge a path in our own strength, manipulate an avenue with our human wisdom or abandon the place God has placed us in search of a solution. Resist the urge to do, instead surrender it to God.  Our posture in waiting should not be passive resignation, but rather  earnest expectation. Don't only believe that God can do what we have asked,  believe that He will. One of my favorite quotes by Anatole France says, "To accomplish great things, we must not only act but dream, not only plan, but also believe."

Maybe it's time for you to dream again, to hope again, to love again while you wait on God. We serve a Father who goes way beyond just meeting our needs to fulfilling our desires and making our dreams come true. It happened for me and the same God can do it for you! What are you waiting on God for and how can I pray for you?
